PLUNKET SHOP DAY.
The denfands of the-Pdunket cause, being, as , they, are, perennial, some means has constantly to be devised to meet thosia demands, which, means that those women who comprise the* Plunket [ committees need to be—and generally are—very hard-working, courageous, '■ and possessed of never-failing initia- \ tive. The latest venture o£ the local ( committee was Friday's shop-day, which proved an unqualified success, for the two tables which began the day laden with jam/ produce, flowers, etc., were, long before the close of the af-, tornoOn, completely denuded of their freight. Two ladies—Mrs Meadows and Mrs Tosswill—were in charge of the tables, and assisting them were members of the committee.
