DANCE AT WAIWHETU CATHOLIC HALL.
The Catholic Hall at Waiwhetu was the scene on Thursday night of a very sociable plain and fancy dress dance, and though these functions are of fortnightly occurrence, judging by the attendance and enthusiasm of the dancers, they are as popular as ever. The ladies' fancy costumes which were awarded prizes are as follows: First, •"Gipsy" Miss Corkin j second, "Spanish Lady," Miss E. Newbury; Poster, "Lamp Shade," Miss E. Collins. The .gentlemen's first prize was awarded to * ' Old Maid,'' Mt. R. Liuissonj the second prize going to "Girl,'.* Mr, Hall. The Maori Orchestra provided the music, and the committee was 1* as follows:—Mesdames Wilkinson, Garry, Collins, Trainer, O'Connor, Mulhane, Weyburn, Wells, and Miss CJorkin (2), and Perkinson (2), and Messrs Wilkin»son, O'Connor, Fletcher, Fairibrother and McKellop, while Mr. Minihan acted as M.C.
