WAIWETU GARDEN FETE.
- We have pleasure in assisting the ■conunittcMi of the sub-branch of the Plunkot Society (recently raised to that, status by reason of* the good wort accomplished), by calling special attention to the Garden Party to be held in the pretty grounds of Captain and Mrs. Olphe-rt, "Harptreo" Waiwetu Rp^ld, on {Saturday afternoon next, 22nd1 inst. T-he attraetiojis provided are many and various, ami aibqve all the committee is giving occular demonstration of the .success attending its work and that of the Plunket nurses by holding a Show, 7 at wrhieh, wo are assured, will l^e seen ,\nunibers of infants whose hoalth, size, weight, and general condition leave absolutely, nothing to be desired. ~VVhen the mothers q£ th.6 ■ Hut^t and WtyiwetU;make up their mind to db-anyt-hing, no matter what it may be, it may be taken for, granted that it ■will be well done, and they certainlyhave dpne in the matter of their in-, ■fantiie representatives. Mr. W. ISTash, M.P. will open the gala at 2.30.' " Th(;xt will be produce and other stalls, wtiile icc-creums and 'a fine afternoon tea will' be provided at a small charge. Miniature Golf, Quoits and other entertaining pastimes will^.be in evidence, and invitations to be present have been accepted by a number of leading local, residents, and the Society in, Wellington will be represented by the President and a number of leading officials. This new branch whie-ii only commenced operations in February last, is. doing such a volume' of excellent work that a permanent home for its operations is now an urgent ; necessity, and we understand that there will lie no difficulty in obtaining a site. . /: •'.
