METHODIST SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY.
The Lower Hutt Methodist, Sunday School is celebrating its 91st anniversary on Su^ay^ Koveiftibei; 30t;ti, in, King George Theatre. Bey. J. C. liOan, Presbyterian minister at> Petone, "will address the children in the morning, Rev. McDowell (Kilbirnie) in the afternoon/and Bey. Harold Sharp will be ■in the pulpit at the evening service. The children, assisted by members of tkeCflinrch Choir, are being trained <by that weU laiown conductor, Mr. Ernest Dawson, and tiieix singing will -be a special feature of each, service. Mr^ A. Ballantyne«is the pianist and there twill be an orchestra. • ; The choice of music has proved a happy one, .--the Lppems being expressive of the highest 'form of ibeauty-^-the beauty of spiritual things—and the settings enhancing their devotional note., Among -the numbers are Sir John Stainer^s "Whither Pilgrims a.T© you going1?" J- H. Mauncler's '^lowers from His Own garden/ "In the SUent Midnight," (A. M. Goodhart), and the anthem "Open the Gates of the Temple," with its exquisite soprano solo from Handel "I know that my Eedeemier liveth.";, Residents of the Hutt should not fail •to be present at this great festival of music.
