OPENING DAY AT TRENTHAM TO-MORROW. After the continuous rains of the past week, real winter jgoing may be expected for the opening day at Treutham to-morrow. In these circumstances noted mudlarks will be in demand and the fields contain many proved winter performers. The lot of the speculator, however, does not look a happy one, for some of the fields are uncomfortably larged and it looks like Trentham maintaining its reputation as being “the graveyard for punters.” Among the well-supoprted division however will be the following : Marii'i Steeples ; Primak, Royal Romance. Woburn Handicap : Second Innings, Lady Leigh, Gay Hunting. Vittoria Hurdles : Taumau, Tail Light, Entheos. Stewards’ Handicap : Hunting Blood, Maori Song, Gaily. Wellington Steeples : Bryce Street, Erination, Brigadore. Trfentham Hurdles : # Full ’O Scotch, John Charles, Aurora’s Love. Whyte Handicap : Joe Louis, Enge, Quadroon, Te Aro Handicap : Puroto, Eotoma,' Gold Glare.
