MAN-HUNT IN TIGER COUNTRY.
POLICE AFTER MURDERERS OF MINE-OWNER (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copy right) Received Wednesday, 1 a.m. SINGAPORE, June 28. Two hundred a'nd fifty police are scouring the jungle in Pahang State seeking the ten Chinese allegedly responsible for the murder of Mr, Duns ford, the Auckland gold mine manager. It is believed that all avenues of escape are cut off and a pitched battle with the gang who are armed with shotguns is regarded as inevitable. Sixty Malay and Sikh police set out early this morning on a 75-mile jungle trek. Each policeman is armed with a shotgun, a bayonet and a chopper, also a week’s provisions. The country abounds with tigers.
