CITY COUNCIL’S NARROW VOTE CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The City Council decided to-night by nine votes to seven that picture theatres should not be allowed to open on the evening of Christmas Day. Tho council had previously decided against pictures on Christmas during the afternoon or evening, but the matter was raised again at a special meeting tonight by Dr. T. J. Thacker.
