NAPIER CATHEDRAL
Dean Brocklehurst’s Mission
Tho Very Rev. Dean J. B. Brocklohurst, Dean of Waiapu, is expected to return to New Zealand next November, after having spent some nine months in the Old Country raising funds towards tho restoration of St. John’s Cathedral, Napier, which was totally destroyed in the 1931 earthquake. Advice has been received in Napier that he hopes to sail for New Zealand next October, but he has given no indication, yet as to the amount he has collet ed in England.
Dean Broeklehurst sailed from New Zealand on January 17 last his aim being to collect as much money as possible by way of donations to rebuild a Napier cathedral, the estimate for which is £50,000. Since his arrival in England he has covered an extensive area, preaching and giving lectures.
