Training Run Held

With tho visit to tho JJaunevirko rally next week-end in view, the Hastings Harrier Club held a training run from the Polo grounds at Stortford Lodge on Saturday. The trail, which was set by Messrs Rapley and T. Taylor, covered every conceivable type of country except hills. Several difficult barbed-wiro fences were encountered, and a stony field, about a mile of road, and several orchards were traversed, the whole course being a good six miles in length. The runners were divided into a slow and a fast pack, a teams’ race being run by tho faster men as a try-out for next Saturday’s event. Tho run-in of tho slow pack resulted.— A. Lee 1, A.
