FAREWELL EVENING

Gifts for Miss Rona Sutton The Friendly Society Hall was the scene of a very jolly evening given in honour of Miss Rona Sutton, of Alessrs Baird’s Ltd., who is severing her connection with the firm. During the evening Mr H. W. C. Baird spoke very highly of the work done by Miss Sutton and of the esteem in which she wag held by the staff. He then presented her with a beautiful eiderdown from the firm and from the staff a crystal reading lamp. Mr Baird also welcomed back Mrs Millson, who had recently returned from a trip to the Old Country. A dainty little posy was presented to Miss Sutton by Mrs Millson, and the guest of honour thanked Mr Baird and the staff for their gifts. Mr Norman, who was a capable M.C. during the evening took the opportunity of wishing Mr and Mrs Baird a very happy trip to the East and a safe return. Miss Sutton wore a gown of white georgette with inset frilled godets and a scarlet velvet coatee. Mrs Sutton wore a grey frock with relief of scarlet. Airs Atillson’s gown was of Konya red fashioned with the new full sleeves.
