No Reaction from London Reduction

INCREASED YARDING

Values remained unchanged for fat sheep at Stortford Lodge yesterday, when an increased yarding over the previous week was offered. The entries consisted chiefly of ewes and lambs with a few small pens of wethers. The o<ernc was of average quality, with a few lots being extra prime.

The reduced values for mutton on the London market did not have the reaction anticipated. Butchers were In the market for the larger lines, which were frequently secured over the exporters’ operators. Quality lines met with a good inquiry. The market can bo giiaged from the values offered for the following .selected entries.

A pen of seven light to medium woolly lambs brought 17/6. A bid of IS/- secured a pen of 14 similar finished whitefaeed lambs showing better wool than the previous pen. A peu of 14 medium-framed, wellwoolled, 2-th wethers in prime ordbr made 23/11.

A single heavy woolly lamb brought 25/-.

On account of J. H. August and Son, Patangata, a line of 24 well-framed, prime-quality, heavy ewes brought 21/1. Also from Patangata, a pen of 24 similar ewes, slightly lighter than the previous pen, made 19/10. A line of 62 well-framed, mediumfinished ewes realised 19/3. A single large-framed extra heavy, prime-quality wether brought 28/3.

Three prime-quality ma Wen ewes made 22/7. A line of 111 well-framed, well-fin-ished ewes of good weights realised 20/5.

Three prime-quality, heavy, ' largeframed wethers realised 27/3. A pen of 21 woolly black-faced medium to light prime lambs brought 19/2.

A line of 49 medium to prime wellframed ewes realised 19/-. A useful butcher’s line of 15 blackfaced prime lambs made 22/1. A line of 45 well-framed prime ewes, mixed in type, made 21/-. A line of 55 black-faced woolly lambs, well-grown and quite well finished, realised 22/5.

In from Haumoana, a pen of 23 heavy white-faced prime-quality lambs realised 23/9. A pen of eight prime medium-framed wethers made 24/6.
