French Hair-dresser Diet (Received 3, 10.10 a.m.) PARIS, June 3. The death has occurred of M. Marcel Grateau, inventor of the marcel-wave, aged 84. He originally followed his father’s trade of stone-mason, but delicate health compelled the adoption of hairdressing. When he was dismissed for awkwardness he curled shopgirls’ hair for twopence a head until ho evolved the great idea, cuabling him to charg* £4o for a whole-head wave.
