Acclimatisation Society Meeting ’nip sum uf £2Ol 7/6 from shooting and fishing licences has been received by the Hawke’s Bay Acclimatisation Society since March 31, according to a financial .statement submitted to the executive at. its monthly meeting in Napier last night. The.chairman, Mr J. H. Edmundson, presided over Messrs H. M. Bishop, A. W Renouf, E. Phillips, T. Pickett, F. G Smith. F. D. Hobson. J. B. Logan, (-. Golding and IL M. Cliadwiek (secretary). In. reply to it letter from the East Coast Society asking for pheasants, it was decided' to reply that the year had been a bad one for breeding and they eoulfl not supply birds. It was also decided to give tlie. names of private breeders likely to be able to supply birds, and to say that a liberal supply •of eggs was available. A long list of honorary laiigcrs ol the society, dating back to 1908 and containing the names of many people who have since died or left the district, was received from the Murine Depart meat lor revision. A large number ol names were struck out, leaving only those of recent appointment who took »n active interest in the society’* work.
