Lodge Ladies’ Night From Our Own Correspondent. WAIPAWA, June 2. The annual ladies’ night of the Central Lodge R.A.0.8. was held in the Municipal Concert Hall, Waipawa, on Monday night the W.P. Bro. F. W. Holt presiding over a large attendance of members and their friends. Visiting members of other lodges and representatives of kindred societies were also present. The first part of the evening was devoted to a musical programme. The Municipal Orchestra was present under the leadership of Mr E. J. Maher. Songs were su»M by Messrs C. E. 'l'. Woods, W. A. Sawyer and J. R. Barker, Mr J. Russell rendered a cornet solo, and Mr I. Walker a trombone solo.

The toast “The Visitors” was proposed by W.P. Bro. Holt, and replied to by W.P. Bro. Skelton (on behalf of the visiting members of the order), Bro. H. Tuohy (Ancient Order of Foresters;, and Mr A. R. Egglestone (United An eient Order of Druids). Supper was served by the members of Central Lodge, after which Mr J. Barker conducted community singing. An adjournment was then made to the theatre, where a very pleasant dance was held. The music was supplied by the orchestra under Mr Maher. An extra was contributed by Mr P. Walden, and Bro. R. N. Verran acted as M.C. AMBULANCE SERVICE. The attendance of representatives of St. John’s Ambulance Brigade on football grounds is undoubtedly a great boon to football players. Each Saturday finds members of the Waipawa branch in attendance on Coronation Park, and the skilled treatment available for all classes of injury is greatly appreciated by the players. PERSONAL. Mr Ron. Bibby, of Waipawa, has taken up a business appointment In Wellington. He will be greatly missed in sporting circles, having been a prominent member of the Waipawa senior football team, and one of the founders of the Gymnasium Club. Mr H. P. Hopkins, of the Te Karaka Post Office staff, is spending a holiday with his parents in Waipawa.
