GIFT AFTERNOON
Miss Phyllis O’Brien, of Napier, who is shortly to be married to Mr. F. Mahoney, was entertained at a delightful gift afternoon. Miss G. Payne and Miss N. Carter acted as joint hostesses at the residence of Mrs. Payne, Vigor Brown street, Napier. An enoyable time was spent with music, games and competitions, etc. Competitions were won by the Misses T. Palmer, E. Mahony, M. Beach and Pat O’Brien. A delicious afternoon) tea was served in the dining-room, after which the guest of honour opened her parcels, which included many useful presents. The following were present: —Misses N. Carter, and G. Payne, Mrs Payne, Misses A. and E. Mahony, T. Palmer, L. and M. Beach, T. Carter, K. Kogers, A. Beattie, J. Leach, G. Anderson, Pat Aid T. O’Brien.
