YOUNG PEOPLE’S DANCE
Jolly Party in Hastings A very bright and jolly dance was held at the home of Mrs H. M., Wilson, Lyndhurst road, Hastings, on Saturday evening, when at the invitation of the Misses Mary and Jean Wilson, a number of young folk gathered together to enjoy an informal dance. The guests were received by the hostesses in the entrance hall. Miss Mary Wilson wore a gown of blue and mauve shot taffeta the skirt gradually flared from the waist had an inset panel in front of mauve chiffon, and the corsage was finished with a blue and mauve floral spray. Mis s Jean Wilson wore tete de negre watermarked taffeta with a ruched bertha effect and ruching at the hem. A touch of bright colour was given by a tangerine corsage flower and a bow of matching velvet on one hip.
Mrs H. M. Wilson wore a gown of floral georgette with a black panne velvet bridge coat. The rooms for dancing were gay with tall vases and floating bowls of most beautiful dahlias and the same flowers w r ere arranged in the supper room where a tempting supper was set out. Delicious fruit cup was enjoyed by everyone in between the dances.
Gordon Rcdward’s orchestra played the newest dance tunes and supper extras were played by Mr Guy Barron. Those present were: Misses Barbara Kemp (Gisborne), Margaret Bell, Margaret Glenny, Leslie Cook (Tauranga), Monica Murphy (Gisborne), Mary Rainbow, M. Shcrratt, Sheila Graham, Shena White, Rae Parker, Bettv Johnson, June Humphries, Patricia Hoadley. Jean Lyons, Mary Clark, Margaret Mac Lean, Ruth Small, Valerie Harding, Joan and Pat Williams. Joyce Coop, Helen Sheild, Cynthia Jefferd, Zoe Fryer, Hilary Couper, Eleanor McHardy, Marie Davies, Cynthia Sheild.
