STRANGE SUICIDE
Brisbane Man’s Death
BRISBANE, Sept. Il
Mr Stewart Lyle, Stornionth, aged 47, Clerk of the Petty Sessions, died in sensational circumstances in the office of the Under-Secretary of the Department of Justice. Mr Storrnonth handed the Under-Secretary, Mr G. A. Carter, a letter applying for long-service leave. He then drew a revolver and fired ttvo shots into his left breast. He died before an ambulance arrived. The deceased had a fine war record. He was captured at Suvla Bay and was for three years a prisoner of the Turks.
