HAWKE’S BAY HOUNDS

Large Fields Enjoy Good Runs BRAEHEAD AND THE PARK (Contributed.) The hounds met at the Braehead Plantation, where a large field gathered. The weather was good and clear after a big frost. Scent at all times during the day was good. A run started immediately in a willow ereek, the hare crossing towards Braehead woolshed, and then skirted a crop towards Mi Trevor Black’s. When at the point ox killing the hounds were blocked by the big lagoon, the hare getting well away again towards Mr W. J. Wood’s. Wo continued over some steep country U kill eventually near the Braehead station buildings. Horses had had quite enough. On top of all this we found and ran. another hare until 4 o ’clock. This time it crossed the Braehead creek and made over through Mr Wallace Tod’s, crossed the Tamuniu road towards Mr Kittow’s and ran to within sight of the Tuki Tuki. It came back straight to Mr Wally Wood’s race track, crossed the creek and road and was eventually lost back again on Braehead. To date this was the longest and most tiring run for horses that the Hawke’s Bay Hunt has had in 1935. There were fifty out, among whom wero the Master, his deputies and hunt staff; Mr W. J.
