SEVERAL BURGLARIES
Palmerston North Outbreak MEAGRE RESULTS (By Tpip^rnnh-Piets AMoelatlOD.) PALMERSTON N., June 24. Several burglaries occurred in the city at the week-end. On Friday night the Municipal Library was unlawfully entered and £1 and a bunch of keys were stolen. A billiard saloon wa« also broken into and a few shillings taken. In the early hours of yesterday morning burglars forced the door at the rear of the State Theatre and ransacked the manager’s office, taking the precaution of cutting the telephone wire, but obtained only about £2. The confectionery stall was broken open, also the cash register, but there was no money there. A tobacconist’s premises adjoining were also entered, but it is not known whether any stock was taken. There was no money on the premises. Between Saturday and Sunday, the Piccadilly Tea-rooms were entered, but here also no money was available.
