PAGEANT OF NATIONS
As a result of the Pageant of Nations organised by Mrs H. Gilbertson and held in the Village Hall, Havelpck North, in aid of the Jubilee Cancer Appeal, tiie Bum of £2O was raised.
Many people willingly gave their services to help make the evening a success, and among these were those who took part in the pageant itself. These were Miss Peggy Harvey, the central figure, the Spirit of Peace, Mrs Estaugh (Brittania), Mrs I’owrio (John ’Bull), and the Misses Ada Fergusson and Margaret May (England), Miss Jean Lowrie Piper Lawson and Mr Woods (Scotland), Mrs Pike and Mrs Huck and Miss Fay Hall (Ireland), Mrs Gloyn and Mrs E. Wall (Wales), Miss Nancy Crompton (France), Mrs J. Norvell (Alsace Lorraine), Mrs Fergusson and Miss Edna Meads (Spain), Miss Michael Gardiner (Portugal), Mrs A. F. Glcnny (Switzerland), Miss Ritchie (Norway), Mrs Parton (Sweden), Miss Anderson (Italy), Mrs Pickering (Germany), Mrs Toulmin (Poland), Miss Lynch (Czechoslovakia), Mrs Paynter (Roumania), Miss Maida Neilson (Bulgaria), Miss Muriel Meads (Greece), Mrs Davis (Esthonia), Miss Lettie Harvey (Lithuania), Mrs W. Meads (Denmark). Mrs Bodley (Holland), Mrs May (Russia), Mies Phyllis Buck (Belgium), Miss Ida Combs (India), Mrs H. Miller (China), Mrs Guthrie (Japan), Mrs Heenan (United States of America), Miss Faith Gardiner (Canada), Mrs Duke (Argentine), Miss Elgar Christie (Australia), Mrs Eider and the Maoris (New Zealand).
