CARDS AND DANCING
Enjoyable Hatuma Evening The members of the Hatuma Women’s Institute, with Mrs W. Hamilton as organiser, arranged a very enjoyable “flag 500’’ and bridge evening on Wednesday. The function was held in the Village Hall, which had been attractively decorated. The electric heat ers used made conditions very cosy for the large number present, many of whom attended from Waipukurau. The evening was a particularly jolly one, the players being very eager to take flags to their home table. The winners were Mr and Mrs R. Sim, and Mrs Stratford and Mr Knight. The console tion prizes went to Mr and Mrs Kennedy, and Mrs Jim Wilson and' Mr Downey. Miss K. Allan, president of the institute thanked Mr Stratford and all others who hhd helped to make the evening such a success, after wdiich supper was served and the floor cleared for dancing. Popular dance tunes wore placed by Mr K. McKenzie and extras by Mr G. Edgecombe.
