Messrs. Gordon Walker, Ltd. report holding their usual weekly market sale at their Kussell street saleyards on Saturday last, when they offered a full yarding of all classes of live and dead stock to a good attendance of the public. There was a heavy yarding of pigs, and prices throughout the day were on a par with previous ruling rates. Poultry also was penned in larger numbers than usual, and prices were still on a par with previous rates. There was practically no demand for dairy stock. Fruit, produce and sundries sold at satisfactory prices to ven dors. The following prices were realised: — Poultry: Table birds 1/6 to 4/4, W.L. hens 1/10 to 2/9, W.L. cockerels 1/7 to 3/5, 8.0. hens 1/9 to 3/2, B-O. cockerels 2/3 to 4/4, I.R. ducks 2/- to 3/2, Muscovy ducks 2/8 to 3/6, turkeys 6/6 to 11/6, W.L. pullets 2/6 to 3/3, chick cockerels 2d to 6d, hen and chicks 9/6. Pigs: Weaners 12/6 to 19/-, slips 19/6 to 22/6, stores 24/- to 29/6, porkers 32/- to £2 4/-, choppers £1 11/- to £1 17/-, sows £3 to £3 15/-. Fruit, produce and sundries sold at satisfactory prices to vendors.
