The annual general meeting of the Hawkes’ Bay Rugby Union will be held in the Napier Chamber of Commerce rooms to-night at 7.30 o’clock.

The Misses Grantham and Patston remind parents that their dancing classes open to-morrow.

The annual general meeting of the H.B. Boxing Association will be held in the Hastings Chamber of Commerce rooms on Tuesday, April 10, at 8 p.m. The Hastings New Relief Workers’ Association will hold a grand euchre tournament in the Trades Hall tonight, commencing at 8 o’clock.

A meeting of citizens and young men interested iu the setting up of a club for providing entertainment and physical activities for the youths of Hastings will be held in the Drill Hall on Monday evening.

The official opening of the Parkvale Golf Club will be held to-morrow afternoon at 1.30. All members, intending members and members of other clubs are invited to participate. A mixed foursome will be played.

Professional companies use the stock phrase “packed to the doors, hundreds turned away,” but this was the truth about the performance last night of the prize winners in the Foresters’ Hall, Napier. It was a heartbreaking experience for the management and the hundreds who could not get in. Everyone present proclaimed it as the finest entertainment ever presented by the Competitions Society at the demonstrations. The Hastings performance takes place tonight in the Municipal Theatre, when n wonder fill programme of varied songs, instrumental items, dances and elocutionary Items will be presented, many of them in beautiful costumes.
