Mr Wilsou Anderson, of Wanganui, who has been staying tn Hastings, has left by car for a holiday in Auckland.

Mr E. Traill, who has been spending Easter in Auckland, returned to Hastings yesterday.

Mr H. Davies and Mr D. W. Hursthouse, who spent Easter at Taupo lor the fishing, have returned to Hastings.

Mr Dick Sharpe (England), who is at present living iu Taupo, spent Easter with friends at Havelock North and has now returned to Taupo.

Flying-Officer H. D. Gilman, formerly of Auckland, has been posted to No. 6OJ (City of London) (B? Squadron, Hendon.

Tho Rev. W. T. F. Skey, of Raglan, has been appointed Maori missioner for the greater part of the King Country, with headquarters at Otorohanga.

Mr W. G. Mender, formerly manager of the Timaru blanch of tho Union Steam Ship Company, has been appointed manager of the New Plymouth office.

Mr T. H. Easdown, manager of the Auckland branch of the National Bank of New Zealand, who has been on a visit to England, left for New' Zealand, via Australia, by the Orama on March 3.

Mr Guy Natusch, a son of Mr Tilyard Natusch, and a former Wellington journalist, has been appointed editor of the Launceston “Examiner.’’ He succeeds Mr S. Dryden, who has retired to a consultative position.

Mr Lon. Wood, who has been a prominent figure in entertainment circles in the district for the past three years, will shortly leave Maipukurau to take up his residence at Feilding, having secured an appointment there.

Mr Lal Spiller, eldest son of Mr 8. P. Spiller, will leave Auckland to-day by the Monowai, en route to England, on a holiday trip. On his arrival at Sydney he will connect with the Oronsay, which makes the trip Home via the Suez Canal.

Mr, Bernard Shaw changed his plana thia morning. He abandoned the Nelson visit and left Blenheim for Kaikoura. He expects to reach Christchurch to-morrow, leaving there on Monday night for Wellington.—Press Assn.

Mr H. L. Dawson, of Auckland, has been suooeasful in his application tor a short service commission in the Royal Air Force, and was to start on March 16. Grantham, Lincolnshire, will be his training base. At the termination of his six years’ service, Mr Dawson hopes to return to Auckland.

Mrs R. O. Kirk, widow of the late Mr R. C. Kirk, of Wellington, who, with Mr Windeyer, of Australia, gave the Kirk-Windeyer Cup for competition between New Zealand and New South vVa.lea, and for which matches commenced at Auckland to-day, is at present staying with relatives in Hastings.

Mr R. Wright, pridpal supervising inspeceor of stock for the Wellington district, retired on superannuation on March 31, after 40 years’ service. Mr Wright was a well-known figure among the farming community and stock and station interests, as his official duties brought him into close contact with settlers and their organisations.
