Fewer .Unemployed British Official .Wireless Service. RUGBY, April 3. Another large reduction Of the number of unemployed is announced. Figures issued by the Labour Ministry show that on March 19 there were approximately 10,068,000 insured persona of ages between 16 and 64 in employment m Britain. This was 17,000 more than a year before. The improvement in employment eitended to nearly all the principal industries. Those in which it was most marked included building and publicworks contracting, tailoring, iron and steel manufacture, engineering and ironfounding, shipbuilding and ship repairing, metal-goods manufacture, mo-tor-vehicle building, coal-mining, printing and bookbinding, the cotton industry, distributive trades and shipping, dock and harbour and hotel and board-ing-house services. There was a slight decline in employment in the wool textile industry.
The numbers of unemployed persons on employment exchange registers In Britain were 1,796,787 wholly unemployed, 312,622 temporarily stopped and 91,168 normally in casual employment. making a total of 2,201,577. This was 116,332 less than a month before and 574,607 less than a year before. The total on March 19 comprised 1,808,290 men, 19,212 boys, 303,523 wo. men and 39,552 girls,
