SINGAPORE NAVAL BASE
Japan to Demand Abolition ALTERS BALANCE OF POWER (Received 4, 10.40 a.m.) LONDON, April 3. She contends that Hongkong is sufficient to protect Britain’s Far Eastern trade. The completion of the base would alter the balance of power in the Pacific, contrary to the spirit of the Washington Treaty.
