THE JERSEY JUDGE
A Prominent Breeder RAISED ROYAiL CHAMPION Tho breeder of one of the Dominion’s champion cows judged the Jersey section at the show yesterday, this being Mr J. Mitchell, of “Hopelands,” Woodville. Mr Mitchell has tho honour of having bred Braeside Dawn, the seven-year-old Jersey cow I which has won the championship for L.er breed at two Royal Shows in succession. Although this cow, which is now owned by Messrs A. L. Horne and Sons, of Ohau, was not entered at this year’s Royal Show, it is considered in many quarters that she would have been hard to beat had she been exhibited. Mr Mitchell mentioned to the “Tribune,” in the course of conversation yesterday, that he at present possessed a half-sister to Braeside Dawn and that this animal was developing well. At the Woodville Show, where she was exhibited, this animal secured three first prize awards.
