SPORTS MEETING
WIND-UP OF SEASON. HASTINGS CLUB’S SPECIAL I FIXTURE. The final sports meeting of the season will be held at Nelson Park, Hastings, on Tuesday evening, 21st February, 1933, commencing at 7.45 p.m. The Hastings Club have held some very successful meetings during the season, and are ’caving nothing undone to make the final meeting eclipse all other efforts. It is anticipated that there will be very large fields in all events, and some very exciting racing should be witnessed. A large and varied programme has been arranged, catering for all branches, and given fine weather patrons are assured of a good evening’s entertainment. A race well worth seeing will be the 120 yards hurdles, in which the two local hurdlers, Frank Sharpley and Jack Holdcrness, will be seen in action. At the recent New Zealand championship meeting Sharpley was in front two hurdles from the finish in the final of the 120 yards hurdles championship, when he had the misfortune to fall. Holdorness also has some fine performances to his credit, and with Reg Cai-Ji-nan, of Napier, in the field, this should
