RUGBY FOOTBALL
THE HASTINGS CLUB ANNUAL MEETING HELD. MUCH ENTHUSIASM SHOWN. Tho sixteenth annual general meeting of tho Hastings Rugby Football Club was held in the band room on Friday night. The president (Mr. C. J. Baker) presided over approximately 60 members. The annual report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. Tho president addressed the meeting on last season’s activities, and expressed the hope that the club would enjoy another successful season. Tho following new members were elected: —E. Morley, L. Palmer, A. Aldridge, S. Beek, L. Wall, P. Sullivan, J. McCormick, H. Benson, J. Aubrey, C. dull, J. Scott, W. Devinny, V. McNeil, J. Bennett, D. Doole, T. Lathan, K. Burrell, H. Horton, L. Ewing and J. Gray. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr. John Chambers; president, Mr. C. J; ’ Baker; vice-presidents, twenty-nine elected; club-captain, Mr. B. Grenside; senior coach, Mr. B. de Castro; junior coach, Mr. N. Kingston; thirds coach, Mr. B. Grenside; secretary, Mr. I. 11. Collett; treasurer, Mr. C. H. Bunker; committee, Messrs. R. Pearson, A. Kirkpatrick, W. Burnett, J. Nelson, F. Mardon, W. Pearson, G. Bark, J. Cameron, J. Wilson, Messrs. C. J. Baker and C. H. Bunker were reelected as delegates to tho sub-union.
Tho valuable services of Messrs. W. Horne and L. Fisher wore recorded in tho club’s records. Messrs. M. and A. Lomas were elected honorary members of the club. The senior subscription was fixed at 7/6, junior at 5/-, thirds at 3/6, and fourths at 2/6. It was decided that one team bo entered in each grade of tho competition. •
It was a very enthusiastic meeting, and the prospects are bright for a successful year.
