TARADALE

league football club CHANGE OVER DECIDED UPON There was an attendance of about 50 football supporters at a meeting held in the Taradale Bowling Club pavilion on Tuesday evening. Air J. H. Hindman was elected chairman for the meeting. The meeting was called for the purpose of deciding whether the League game would be played in Taradale this season. A number of supporters of the code were present from Napier, and Mr McCrae addressed the meeting in favour of the change over, the case being carefully and concisely stated. Several others spoke in favour of the proposal and those present were invited to ask any questions to the speakers. There was very little opposition shown. The proposal to form a league football club in Taradale was carried by a large majority. Mr Gibson was elected secretary (pro tem) of the proposed club, and a general meeting is to be called for Thursday, 23rd inst. for the purpose of electing officers, etc. Judging by the enthusiasm shown, the prospects for the coming season look particularly bright. In addition to those players who were present, there are a large number who have signified their intention of turning over to the League code.
