The agents for the Talleyrand have received a message from Captain Borrensen stating that in his opinion there is little hope of finding the missing Kinsen Maru. An official of the Y’amashita Com pany stated: “It is very unlikely that the Kinsen Maru is still afloat but we are still hopeful that the crew of 38 will be picked up in the ship’s boats. ’ ’ SEARCH CONTINUES. Wellington, March 16. The secretary of the General Post Office advises that the following message was broadcast by the Talleyrand at 2 o’clock this morning: “Talleyrand communicated with Kinsen Maru for the last time on the evening of the 13th. Nothing has been heard since. We reached this position at 2 p.m. on the 14th. We have searched the sector on a length of 60 miles. The Triona searched near Chesterfield Kcef and Bennet Island on Wednesday and is proceeding northward. There was no sign of life or wreckage. The Welcome will cruise to the position early on Thursday morning and make Bennet Island, Long Island and Avon Island. The Hide Maru will pass latitude 20.30 south on Thursday afternoon. The Mantram will probably pass the area ou Thursday. The Talleyrand will continue searching on Thursday in conjunction with these vessels.’’
