HOSPITAL POLICY
CHANGES IN DISTRICTS. GOVERNMENT BILL. (From Our Special Parliamentary Reporter.) Parliamentary Buildings, Oct. 31. It is understood from a reliable source that the Government intends to introduce a Bill this session providing the necessary machinery for bringing about changes in the number of hospital districts. Legislation will not be on the lines of the report of the National Expenditure Commission and it is doubtful whether a board of hospitals will be provided for, as recommended by the Commission. It is believed that the Government’s attitude is that the public are not ready for the sweeping changes proposed by the commission in the direction of reducing the number of hospital districts and changing the system of control.
