DANCE AT TIKOKINO
PLUNKET SOCIETY FUNDS From Our Own Correspondent. A very successful old time ball in aicL of funds for the Plunket Society was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall on Friday night. The music was supplied by Les. Henry’s orchestra and was much appreciated by the dancers, some of whom came from Hastings, Kereru, Waipawa, Waipukurau and Ongaonga. Over one hundred couples attended. Cards were provided for non-dancers, the winners of the card tournament being Mrs Peters and Mr W. Olliver. The hall was prettily decorated for the occasion and the M.C.s, Messrs Stowe and Vesty kept things going in real old time style. During the evening there, were several competitions, the waltzing competition being won by Mr W. Ross and partner (Ongaonga). A Monte Carlo Waltz was won by Mr E. Ingram and partner. Mention must be made of the delicious supper provided by the ladies, and they are to be congratulated on a most successful function and have reason to feel gratified at the substantial sum they will hand over to the Plunket Society.
