THE FRIVS. AT ELSTHORPE
ENJOYABLE CONCERT. From Our Own Correspondent. The Napier Frivolity Minstrels gave a splendid entertainment in the Elsthorpe Hall on Thursday night. Unfortunately the company arrived late, owing to a breakdown, but when they did arrive about 9.30, they were given a rousing reception by a very large audience. All the items were most enthusiastically received, and the whole show was a huge success. On behalf of the Elsthorpe School Committee, Mr MeG.Jin sincerely thanked the "Frivs” for coming out and keeping their appointment, in spite of the misfortune they had had on the journey, and culled for three hearty cheers, which were lustily given. On behalf of the school children, Belle Priest presented the pianist, Mrs Quarrie, with two lovely bouquets. A dainty supper was provided by the ladies, after which the "Frivs” left on their return journey and the floor was cleared for dancing to music supplied by Mrs Marsh and Mr Stewart.
