RACES AT GISBORNE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Gisborne, October 29. The second day of the Poverty Bay Turf Club’s Meeting is being held in fine weather before a good attendance. The track is in good order. Results;— Waikanai Hack Handicap.—l Black Songester 1, 3 Stitch 2,2 Aiguille 3. Also started: Sunglare and Merry Cry. Won by half a head; length and threequarters between second and third. Time, 1.24 2-5. Second Hurdles.— 7 Rongo (Mathieson) 1, 1 Kimbo 2,2 Manifesto 3. All started. Won by It lengths, two lengths between second and third. Time, 2.45 1-5. Juvenile Stakes. —1 Good Hunting 1, 3 Grand Sport 2, 5 Summerhill 3. Ail started. Won by a neck. Time, 1.15 1-5. WELLINGTON TROTS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Oct. 28. The Wellington Trotting Club’s meeting is being held at Hutt Park to-day. Results:— Petone Handicap.—4 Wah 1, 1 Louis Bingen 2,2 Stanley Bingen 3. Sen: Fairyland. Won by a length and a half, three-quarters of a length between second and third. Owing to showers throughout the morning the start of the second day’s programme at the Auckland trots was delayed for half an hour (making the last race at 4.45). The track is holding.
