PROPOSAL FOR MORE LOOMS. A JOINT DISCUSSION. (British Official Wireless.) (Received 29, 10.30 a.m.) Rugby, Oct. 28. Following the recent settlement of the wages dispute in the weaving section of the Lancashire cotton industry, manufacturers and operatives began a joint discussion of the proposal for more looms per weaver, which was left over from the general settlement. Failing agreement through existing machinery the problem will come before the new conciliation body set up under the recent genera] agreement.
