H.B. TENNIS CLUB
SEASON OPENED The courts of the above club were in first class condition for the opening last Saturday afternoon although players were not as numerous as in other years, no doubt owing to weather conditions. However, all who were present spent a very enjoyable time. There were plenty of seats on the lawns for spectators and all eight courts were ongagsri throughout the afternoon. The club provided a dainty afternoon tea. Among the players present were:— Meqdarnes Simpson, Nicholas, Westerholm, Hawke, Sowter and McMurray; Misses Hardy-Gibson (2), C. Guthrie, 8. Moore, Gallagher, R. Simpson, N. Howell, B. Bradley, Robertson, Hunter, Hannah, Heath, Somerset-Smith, Saxby, M. Dalgleish, Russell, E. Lopdell, Bryant. Mr L. W. Frude is the honorary secretary of the club. Also present were: Mesdames H. Bradley, McCaskill, Fisk, Bagley, Dunsford, Ellerm, Bear, McPhail, Edgeley, T. C. Moore, Russell, Walker, F. Cane, Bryant; Misses 8. Clark, E. Triggs, D. Cunningham, M. Holt and N. Steel
