LADIES’ GOLF
DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIP. MORNING ROUND OF FINAL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Timaru, Oct. 13. Overnight rain left rtfie Highfield links in a slightly heavier state than yesterday for the final of the women’s Dominion championship, between Mrs J. C. Templer (Waimate) and Miss B. Rutherford (Hawarden). Keen interest was taken and at the end of the morning’s play Mrs Templer was four up. In the early stages Mrs Templer gave a rather indifferent display and her approach shots and putting both proved erratic. Mrs Templer improved and showed fine form to assume a sixup lead at the eleventh. Miss Rutherford then rallied to win back three holes but lost the eighteenth, giving her opponent a lead of four to commence the afternoon round with.
