STABLE MONEY LEAGUE
fHE WELLINGTON CONFERENCE HASTINGS DELEGATES APPOINTED. Krom the date of its formation lasts April the Hastings Stable Money League has worked in unison with a similar body in Napier, and it js hoped that good results will follow. A movement initiated by the Hastings executive resulted in the organisation by Captain H. M. Rushworth, M.P., of a conference to be opened in Wellington next Wednesday, October 19. of all oodies actively engaged in, or sympathetic with, having a full, open and immediate inquiry into our present currency and credit issuing system, and possible alternatives thereto. At its general meeting held last evening, the Hastings League appointed Mr J. A. Simson as its delegate to attend the conference, and also authorised its executive to appoint one other. The vice-president of the Fruitgrowers’ Association and the president of the local Farmers’ Union reported that their respective organisations had 6een unable to finalise their arrangements, but both bodies being in complete sympathy with the movement, the two officials voiced their conviction that their organisations would each send a delegate to the conference A combined meeting of the Hastings and Napier executives will be held next Saturday evening to finalise arrangements.
