WEDDING

COOK—BANKS. At St. Andrew’s Church, Hastings, a pretty wedding of cons.idcrable interest took place last evening, when Frances, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Banks, Southampton street, was married to Jack Frederick Cook, second son of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Cook, Waipukurau. The Rev, D. J. A. Shaw and Rev. A. C. McLean (Waipukurau) officiated. The ehurch was beautifully decorated with branches of double pink cherry blossom, pink bows and blossoms on the seats, a lovely wedding bell in eherry and pink tones, and lestoons of lyeopodium and pink flowers. Miss Airini Lock played the wedding hymn and marches. The bride, who entered the church with her father, Mr. J. Banks, wore a very dainty frock of shell pink georgette mounted on satin, made with a closely fitting bodice with cowl drapery. The skirt was moulded at the hip line and had inlet flared panels with cascade frills at the centre, back and front. The bodice was finely pintucked. A long hand-embroidered veil was eaught with a coronet and orange blossoms in front, and fell over the froek forming a train, and an exquisite bouquet of ‘ ‘ pink pearl ’ ’ rhododendrons, pink heath, and other lovely pink toned flowers with sprays of maidenhair fern and pink ribbons was carried. ■ , Miss Dorothy Banks, sister of the bride, chief bridesmaid, and Miss Margaret A. Cook, sister of the bridegroom, wore most picturesque frocks of pale rose georgette, patterned with deeper rose and pastel blue. The frocks were long and flared at the hem and were gaged at the waist. Bolero coatees with elbow length gaged puff sleeves were worn, the coatees finished with finely pleated frills. Pale rose mittens finished with two rows of finely kilted frills of the patterned georgette were a pretty finish to the frocks, and also the deep rose shoes. Picture hats of pink crinoline straw were trimmed underneath with a bandeau of flowers and on the briin with a soft pink satin bow and swathe. Bouquets of pink and rose ranunculi, fern, and paler pink flowers were carried. Mr. Basil White, of Mangaorapa, Porangahau, was best man, and Mr. J. Banks, Junr., brother of the bride, groomsman. After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Banks entertained their guests at the Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ tea-rooms, Mrs Banks wearing a smart gown of myrtle green maroeain -with a floral yoke and bolero jacket finished with two flared frills and a green hat finished with small bunches of orange fruit. A lovely bouquet of red and gold shaded ranunculi was carried. Mrs Cook, mother of the bridegroom, was in a frock of navy blue satin beaute with navy coat trimmed with chinchilla fur, also a navy blue hat relieved with cyclamen, and her bouauet was in cyclamen and petunia tones. The bride received the congratulations of the guests in the lounge which was beautifully decorated with bowls of pink tulips and pink cherry blossoms. At the tables where a delicious repast was set stood a pink iced three-tiered cake, and there were exquisite decorations about the room and alone the tables of pink cherrv blossoms, sweet pens and maidenhair fern, peonv ro«es. and pink Iceland poppies. march for the bride and accompanied the various vocal items. Later in the evenuing the bride, and bridegroom left by car for the north, the bride wearing a frock of sea foam green maroeain patterned in shades of bottle green, orange, and primrose, with a pin tucked yoke and puff sleeves of georgette, a bolero coatee having georgette cuffs. H, Campbell, the latter in navy blue silk and a hat of pink and blue; Mr. and Mrs. A. McLeod, Mrs. McLeod wearing Lido blue with pink relief; Miss G. Campbell, green crepe-de-chine; Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Cook, the latter in biscuit raarocaip with fur collar; Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Campbell, the latter in an ensemble of saxe blue; Mr. and Mrs I. Campbell, the. latter, wearing blue and red floral crepe-de-chine; Miss N. Cook, Miss C. Masters, Mr. and Mrs. J. Agnew, Mr. and Mrs. H. .A. Martin (Waipukurau), Miss E. A. Hawthorne, Mrs. R.
