HASTINGS ORPHANS
TO-MORROW NIGHT’S KOBSRO. “SOMETHING SPECIAL’’ PROMISED. Members of the Hastings Orphans’ Club are promised something “very special’’ at the korero in the Assembly Hall to-morrow night, when the whole of the programme, with the exception of the orchestral numbers, will be provided by members of the club’s harmonica band. This programme will be both unique and novel, the whole of the fun being surrounded with an air of mystery, and practically every item is being presented for the first time. It is entirely original, and the manner in which the programme is being presented, has never previously been seen. For some weeks, tho performers have been rehearsing their parts, and a full dress rehearsal was held in the Assembly Hall last night, so members of the club may rest assured that they are to witness something “right out of the box.” The whole entertainment, which is full of variety and novelty, is to be presented in costume, and as the pro- ■ gramme is a fairly lengthy one, members are urged to be seated ready for a prompt start. In connection with the coming visit to the residence of Mr. H. M. Campbell, M.P., at Horonui, this has been arranged for Sunday, September 11, but further details concerning this will be announced at the korero to-morrow night.
