23 CHARGES ADMITTED. ROBBED A BLIND MAN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, June 14. Hugh Francis Haughey, aged 20, admitted 23 charges, including theft, conversion of cars, carrying firearms and unlawfully escaping from custody, and was sentenced to two years’ reformative detention to-day by Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M. The offences included robbing a blind man of £3 10/- by a false cheque. The police said that some of the crimes had been committed in a bare-faced manner while on remand.
