HUNTING ACCIDENT. From Our Own Correspondent. ■While jumping his horse over a spar at the Waipukurau hunt on Saturday, Mr Erie White, of Otane, was thrown from his horse and injured. He was removed to the County Hospital immediately, where it was found he was suffering from a fractured jaw and shock. On enquiry on Monday his condition was as well as could be expected. Mr George Lange, who has been a patient in the Waipukurau Hospital for several months, left for Rotorua yesterday for further treatment. In a basketball match against. Waipawa Old Girls, Otane A team won by 15 goals to three. The Otane Al and Waipawa D.H.S. A match resulted in a draw, 11 all. Onga Onga beat W.D.H.S. B team by 13 to 11. Another of the popular old-time dances by the Mav Club was held in the Otane Hall on Saturday night when a very large crowd spent a most successful evening dancing on ant excellen floor to first class dance music provided by the "Syncopaters. ” The supper was also a very pronounced factor in the enjoyment of the evening. The M.C. ’s for the occasion were Messrs Tye and Spargo, who fulfielled their duties most efficiently. During the .evening a Mnnte Carlo danec was organised which excited a great deal of interest, the successful couple being Mrs Tate and Air Tannerhill, and the runners-up Miss Mason and Mr Jennings.
