ANNUAL MEETING HELD.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS.

Tho annual meeting of the Hastings and District Scots’ Society was held in tho “Favourite” Hall last night. There was a good attendance of members, Chief Baird presiding. The Chief, in the course of his report, expressed appreciation to tho tollowing for services rendered: To the pipers, Messrs McLeish and Beattie; to Miss Spinks (dancing)-; to Miss Collins (accompanist); to Mrs Duff and Mr Lord (musicians for dancing); to the programme committee, for the excellent work done; to the ladies for their help in catering for the suppers, and to the local press. The following office-bearers were then elected: Chief, Mr H. W. C. Baird; Chieftains, Messrs Priest, Gordon, Farquharson and Guthrie; Councillors, Messrs Shaw, Riddell, J, Johnson, Sheriff, McGuire, Spinks, Wood, Taylor, McLean, McKay, Rawson, Walker, Patton, J M. Brown, McLeish, Storer and Simpson; treasurer, Mr Williamson; secretary, Mr 1. Johnson; auditor, Mr Priest; musical director, Mr J. Johnson; honorary pipers, Messrs McLeish, Beattie and Lawson; honorary accompanist, Miss Collins ; programme convenor, Mr E. V. Simpson; official dancer, Miss Spinks; M.C.’s, Messrs Guthrie and McDonald. Mr Riddell asked that the question of changing the Ingleside might be referred to the new Council. At the conclusion of the business, dancing was engaged in.

Members are reminded that the reel classes for the winter start this evening (Tuesday).
