TENNIS TOURNAMENT

THE HAWKE'S BAY CLUB. RAIN INTERFERES WITH PLAY. The Easter tournament of the Hawke’s Bay Tennis Club was held again yesterday, but it was interrupted to a very great extent by the weather, especially during the morning. The was impossible to play any of the games on account of the weather. The following are the results of the games that were played: CHAMPIONSHIPS MEN’S SINGLES Second round.— Mackay beat Appleby, 6—4, 6—3; Hay-Campbell beat Meuli, 6— 5, 6—l. LADIES’ SINGLES Second round.— Miss Howell beat Miss Moore, 6—2, 6 —2. MEN’S DOUBLES Second round —Amner and Graham beat Simpson and Mackay, 6 —l, 6—3. Third round.— Robertson and Salmond beat McCaskill and Fisk, 6—l, 6—l LADIES’ DOUBLES Second round.— Mrs Hassall and Mrs Hetley beat Misses K. and C. Tooman, 6—2, 6—o. Third round.— Mrs McMasters and Miss Howell beat Misses Hume and Heard, 6—3. COMBINED DOUBLES .Second round.— Forbes and Mrs McMasters beat Marshall and Miss x.aw rence, 6—5, 4—6, 6—2. HANDICAPS MEN’S SINGLES First round. — Salmond (owe 5) beat Williams (18), 65—51.
