WAIPUKURAU SALE FAIRLY LARGE CATTLE YARDING NO FAT SHEEP ENTERED The weekly Waipukurau stock sale was held to-day in the presence of a good crowd of buyers. The yarding of fat cattle was a fairly large one, and for the most part of medium quality. A considerable number of store cattle were also offered. The prices realised were consistent with recent values, vendors in most instances meeting the market. No fat sheep were offered, and only a small one of stores. Fat Cattle: 7 well-conditioned medium weight Hercford-Shorthorn cross heifers realised £3 15/-; 1 P.A. vcalcr heifer (good), £1 17/-; 1 good weighty Jersey cross cow passed at £2 15/-; 1 attractive Jersey cow ditto, at 10/-; 1 Friesian heifer (medium) ditto, £2 15/-; 1 good Jersey heifer brought £4; 1 Red Poll cow (good condition), £2 10/-; 1 Jersey cross cow, 15/-; 4 weighty Shorthorn bullocks passed at £5; 4 other Shorthorns (medium) also at £4 5/-; 4 Shorthorn steers (medium) do., £2 18/-; 1 Shorthorn stag, £1 4/-; 1 Shorthorn cross cow (medium), brought £1 2/6; 1 Jersey cross ditto, £l. Store Cattle: 30 2-yr. P.A. heifers, from Pourererc, a good line, realised £1 12/-; 18 well-conditioned P.A. and Hereford cross cows, £3; 14 medium and light quality P.A. and Hereford cross ditto., £1 15/6; 19 P.A. and Hereford cross cows and calves, in light condition, £2 5/-; 15 fair quality P.A. and Hereford cross 2-yr. heifers (from Pourererc), £1 10/-; 6 Jersey calves (attractive line), 11/-; 2 yearling Jersey heifers (good), £2 5/-; 2 fair quality Friesian steers, £1 4/-; 2 ditto (medium) heifers, £2; young Jersey bull, £1 2/6; Jersey heifer (good), £1 7/6; Jersey steer (ditto.), £1; weighty purebred Jersey bull, £3; 1 small ditto, £1 11/-; and another, 17/6; empty Jersey cow (medium), £1 1/-, another, in profit, failed to realise a bid; a second calver brought £2 15/-; 4 Jersey heifers (i.c. to ped. bull), no bid. Store Sheep: 404 well-conditioned wethers passed at 7/-; 346 4-th. ditto, from To Uri, passed at 6/11; 92 f. and f. fair wethers also, 7/2; 272 2-th. wethers, fair quality, brought 6/2.
