HASTINGS HIGH SCHOOL v. OLD BOYS. The junior competition game was played on the school grounds on Saturday and resulted in a win for High School by the narrow margin of five runs on the first innings. Batting first Old Boys made 54, Litchfield with 27 runs being the only double-figure scorer. The bowling was done by Atkinson four wickets for 6, Craig four for 25, Budd one for 8, Coates one for 11. High School replied with 59, the chief scorers being Waymouth 13 and Atkinson 11. Steedman took six wickets for 26, Rosenberg two for 3 and Bartie one for 18.
