STEAMER FOUNDERS
IN CHINESE WATERS. FATE OF THE CREW. (United Press Association—By Cable— Copyright.] (Received 21, 10.40 a.m.) Shanghai, Aug. 20. After hope had been abandoned of finding survivors from the Indo-China steamer Kwongsang, after she foundered in a typhoon on August 10, H.M.B. Sepoy discovered wreckage at Fuyan Island, sixty miles north of Foochow. Enquiring of the fisher-folk it was learnt that bodies had been washed ashore and btrried. It was also learned that three or four survivo-s had been captured by the Chinese and were believed to be held for ransom. Landing 'parties are now searching the nirates’ lair with hopes of rescuing the captives.
