MADAME FASHION
Bunches ot flat roses are placed just above the knee on the skirt of some of the new evening dresses. Buttons like crystals, buttons like beads, make way for looking-glass buttons. Babv colours—very pale blues and ninks—are a new note in evening frock fashions. The demand for lace clocks m hosiery is growing. One reason given is that longer skirts, centring interest in the ankle, show off the clocks to better advantage. Neck finishes show infinite variety, with a tendency to raise collars close to the throat. The little schoolgirl or Claudine collar is most seen, with lingerie frills and tabs running a close second. Belted frocks are more popular than the beltless prmcesse type, and have their side seams curved to give a fitted supple look. Bolero jackets beaded in a colour to match the dress are worn over chiffon dresses. A new dress material is finely woven straw decorated with motifs •of a different colour.
Long gloves in black or pale pink are worn with sleeveless dinner or dance frocks.
