Cold slaw is raw cabbage, shredded very finely, and allowed to stand in cold water for half an hour. It is then covered with cider vinegar and either cream or a good French dressing. A meat salad is any cold meat with the usual salad. Eggs mav be boiled or poached, but never buttered or fried. Readers are really rather lucky to obtain this diet formula so easily, as the original formula, obtained by an American actress from a famous physician, is said to have cost £lOO. “Olive” would be glad to hear of the success of any ladies who have undertaken the diet. One lady rang ,in to sav that she commenced the diet last Sunday and by Wednesday she had lost half a stone!
